Michele brings over two decades of experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, and organizational leadership. She has raised more than $30 million for small and mid-sized organizations, helping nonprofits across the arts, education, cultural, and social justice sectors reach stability and lasting growth.
Through her Philadelphia-based firm, MW Strategies, Michele provides fractional fundraising and leadership transition support to US-based nonprofits with annual budgets of $250,000 to $5 million and teams of up to ten. She partners closely with executive directors and boards to build data-driven strategies and clear, compelling stories that deepen donor relationships, strengthen operations, and sustain long-term results.
As a Standards for Excellence Licensed Consultant, Michele assesses a nonprofit's governance, accountability, and management practices against a national code of proven benchmarks. This work reinforces her strengths in major gifts, annual giving, capital projects, and grant writing, along with deep experience moving organizations through scaling, succession, and other pivotal moments. She designs effective leadership structures, streamlines how teams run, and fosters healthy, collaborative cultures.
Michele serves on the board of the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits. That role, along with several past board positions, keeps her close to the trends shaping the field and connected to the practitioners who advance it.
A New York City native, Michele has called Philadelphia home since 1999. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University. Away from work, she runs, cooks, reads, and explores the music, museums, restaurants, and sports that define Philadelphia's cultural life.
